Default Rims.....

.....i kno it has been disscussed before on here, but what size would be better on an 05? 16s or 17s. Thinking logicly, like, what will handle better in a foot and a half of snow. ect. and what brand/model .

Well 1st off most people take their rims off in the winter and put stock rims back on. 2 reasons if you have 2 sets of rims you can have one set with good winter tires on them and another set with some good performing tires. The second reason is that sand and salt are not gonna keep your rims looking good for too long, they will eat away and dull your rims. But as far as rims go, 17's are fine and give you some better handling with some good tires and fill the wheel wells up nice.

I have my stock and 17s. Its winter now so of course I have the stock wheels back on with snow tires. The stock tires are not that great in the snow. I know because I've driven a full winter on them and part of another. So I broke down and got a set of dedicated snow tires put on my stock rims now that I have a set of summer/rest of year once snow is gone wheels/tires. They make the world of difference in the snow. Stopping and acceleration are greatly improved. So logically I would probably just get a set of wheels in whatever choice you like and keep your stock wheels for the winter. Potholes are bad in the winter...at least around here so the more rubber you have on your wheels the less likely you will to destroy a wheel. Trust me I know it can happen. I had it happen to me just this fall in a construction area where an enormously large bump was not marked. So I would opt for stock size or smaller if you want something for winter. I have driven through snow up to my bumper last year and it was tough with the stock tires, but I made it. So far this year I've driven through snow up to the bottom of my car. I didn't have any problem getting going. HOpefully that will help.

i dunno too much about the rims and tires.
but if i have to choose one, i will pick the 17".
the reason is it helps u to handle the car much easier.

17's alone will do nothing for handling. They let you put a little wider tire on, but the tire itself it whats gonna help your handling most.
