Default 03 neon sxt dies when put in gear

no codes and i reset it by disconnecting bat
i just bought this car and it didn't make it home. drove it around town under 30mph for about an hr and put 4 gal of higher than 87 octane and 1/4 can of seafood.. started on the 45min drive home and made it 25min and shut down at a stop sign and made it to a auto zone and replaced the coil pack & pct
here is what is happening
miles 145k
1.rough idle
2.dies once in drive
3.pcv breather on the passenger side of the valve cover pukes out oil
tomorrow I'm replacing the valve cover gaskets and plug tube gaskets because in there oil in the spark plug tubes

no check engine lights and the car sat 7 months before i bought it

I'm just hoping its not the rings lol don't feel like doing a rebuild rn haha

Don't toss parts at a unknown problem, wait until you have a positive on a trouble shooting test that confirms a part belongs High up on a suspect list, is faulty, or likely so.

I agree from the posted symptoms, that Worn, or Stuck piston rings probably belong on the suspect list, so I'd not replace the valve/cam cover gasket just yet. Consider performing a crank case pressure test to see if excessive blow-by is present.

Probably a good idea to have replaced the PCV valve as if its OEM, its Way over due & if stuck closed can cause a crank case over pressure condition.
