Default dents and dings

anyone know a really good way to take out some little ping pong ball size indents that are barely noticeable unless you are detailing your car? i have seen this suction cup lookin thing on t.v. but people told me it actually makes the metal come out further than it is supposed to sometimes. thanks for the tips, pointers and advice.

My Dodge dealer has a guy that comes out to the dealership like once a week to do paintless (painless) minor ding repairs....

Yeah there are many companies out there that specialize in that type of repair. Take a look in the yellow pages

I think the people that do the hail damage repairs use heat to make the metal expand and pop the dents out.

Dry Ice...you can get em to pop up a little w/ a heat gun but doesnt work to well...Also most ppl use the metal accented body fills and spread over the dents and prime and repaint. Its a wasted effort as Ive had to do this as well its too damned time consuming if you have a lot.

Dry ice works amazingly well on small dents in metal. You MIGHT be able to do it with some regular ice. In theory all that you need to do is make the surface of the metal cold enough so that it contracts accross the surface of the dent and will pop it out to near flush with the rest of the metal. This won't be perfect, but should get rid of most of the dent.

Interesting, never thought of that.
