hello, i just replaced the steering colmn key and trancevef in my neon, had a locksmith come to recode a new key to it and the security is still on and the car will not start, tried the old transever wich is programmed to the car and it still wont start. does anyone know whaT I NEED TO DO TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE, ANY HELP WOULD BE GREatly appriciated thank you all in advance

i know the diffrence trust me veen building dodgesfor 28 years and come from a long line of dirt track racers srarting from 1954, my grandfather rulled hill top speed way and ive followed in fanmily footsteps, i pray to the mopar gods man.....anyway thr people i gopt the cR FROM PUT A TOGGLE SWITCH ON THE STARTER RELAy with a ground bewcause the wire going from the poewer module tho the iemc was fried, diumb idea, the ignithion swithc wwas messed up the car still ran so i decied to swaop the wholw colmn with the iriginal key and transever put on the donar ciolmn, the cxar will not"""start"m it rolls over the security light is on and ui cant gt it to go off so the fuel pump isnt kicking now either red light stays on solid

 

Wow lots of possibilities on this one. Scan for trouble code clues, in case you have more than one problem & Post up All code Numbers as they can help focus a trouble shoot. If you don't have a scan tool or code reader, or cant get a parts store to do their no cost scan, you can trigger the vehicle ECM to put up the trouble codes thusly.

Turn the ignition switch from Off to Run (but Don't crank the engine), 3 times, stopping at Run the Third time, then watch the dash message center as the ECM puts up any stored trouble codes it finds. More thoughts for consideration.
