Default 05 neon 2.0

Had this car given to me, very well taken care of. Drove for nearly a month. Started to hard start. Would give a little pedal and it would staying running. Then it would only run if feathering pedal.
I changed the fuel pressure regulator/filter.
nothing changed, popped fuel line at rail, plenty of fuel pumping into rail..
previous owner had a crank sensor replaced before giving vehicle to me.
no codes.
As I said if I continue feathering gas pedal it stays running. As I let out it shuts off.
Any ideas will be helpful.
Thank you in advance

Welcome to the 2nd Gen Neon forum.

I see you don't have any replies yet, so will see if I can get things started. Use borrow or come by a fuel pressure gauge to do a proper fuel pressure & delivery rate over time test & post the numbers. PSI should be 53-63 & delivery rate should be about 1/2pt-15sec pump run time.
If that checks out ok remove & clean the IAC with a plastic safe cleaner like CRC MAF spray cleaner & let us know how it goes Some beginning thoughts for consideration.

Ok good trouble shooting, finding, feedback & to hear you got positive IAC cleaning results. Be aware cleaning the IAC might not last, it didn't on my 99 Ranger but was a good trouble shooting step for me, as when it acted out again 6mos later, i knew what to replace.

Ok let us know how it goes. Consider using oem parts, or a known good after market mfgr like BWD, who also makes oem parts under contract, so have the quality system & facilities in place to make a quality part.
