well, your also forgetting reprograming. I dug into this a while back . The jet chips are nice for the 03-05 neons becuase there really is nothing other than that and reprograming.

The chip just piggy backs the existing programming, but maximizes performance from stock peramiters but in the limitations of the stock computer (from what i have been led to believe). So, for the best spike in performance and quality the best thing to do is reprograming. But for someone like me and you as well, the chip would be the best bet. I have only come across 2 places (throughout my huge extensive online search) that actually led up to bringing your car in. One was in California, and I believe the other was in Michigan.

So, get the chip, and running your current set-up is about right for installation. I would also recommend that exhaust set-up. Good quality exhaust system. Best of luck with the situation.

Who does actual reprogramming other than Howell? Inform us, cause it would be news to the forum. By the way the AFX PCM is reprogramed through howell.

A lot of people can reprogram=reflash an ECU. There are a lot of places in OHIO that does it.

as stated before casper, i was basing it off of my limited net search. Its nothing like going out there and finding out who does it. I am going to have to dig back through and find out. I will edit my post when i do, so keep a watch... or i might just repost the links.

I do remember one specific place that was in michigan or somewhere of the like. It required your car to be there for atleast a week as they dyno'd and found the top performance peak and took out the gova'natah. Its a time consuming and kind pricey thing from what it sounded like. But its the best option for squeezing those ponies out of your engine.

Ill dig into it again.[X(]

I just might make a new topic for it and someone can pin it or something.

I would be interested in that info if you come across it again. Although, it does seem pretty pricey, dyno tuning time is not cheap.

i know its a double post im sorry, but i decided to just post the findings.

MOPAR does it, I know for a fact but the exact process on which to arrange and get it done is a mystery to me still. I was going to call up the dealership and ask, but them being the money gloating hogs they are, i wouldnt trust them with the ECU to begin with. As well, i heard JET did something along the lines as well, bringing it in and flashing it based on dyno testing.

Those 2 are skepticle in the fact i have only heard stories and no process in which to arrange to get the operation done. I know that you send in the comp. box, and receive it later after it has been reflashed (from the stories).

the other bet is to go to your dealership or ask around. Aside from that, the sites in which i had found the information have elluded me and i cant seem to find them. Sorry there was nothing profound or envoking of praise. I did my search and came up empty handed with results as i had. I did a more indepth search (being a couple months).

The truth is, is that if you do get it done it will mean that the car will be there for maybe 3-5 days for propper timings, adjustments etc. So make sure you have alternative transportation arranged.

The second i find more information i will post it immidiately as for now, we can scrounge up on the rumors or deal with piggy-back systems.

Mopar does not reflash, they sell a performance PCM. Jet is just piggy back systems as far as I know. From the reasearch I have done and people I have talked to the cheapest and most veritile way to go about it is to get the megasquirt which is fully tunable with a dyno. But you are still looking at $500- $700, but its tuned exactlly to your car.

OK... i finally found a site that i had originally found. It lists the neon 2.0 sohc on the spec sheet (second link) with no modifications other than the fan.

So, that said.... its a step closer.

^^the system^^

http://www.kennebell.net/techinfo/do...-test-data.pdf
^^the dyno chart and sheet^^

its not the best performance increase in the world, but its probably better in the long run.

I havent seen anyone running these or heard of it being run so I am a bit skepticle. Hopefully someone can point something out.

Kennebelle is a respected name, although I too have never heard of anyone using them. And those are piggybacks.

the thing that had me was that you had to send in your PCM, which shouldnt be the case if it were a standard piggy-back system.
