i sold a computer out of 2000 dodge neon with a manufactured date 0f 2/19/99. the guys says it it doesn't work in his car, and that it was maunufactured to early to be a 2000???

anybody have any input on interchange, etc... thanks

 

what matters is the generation of dodge Neon. If the car is the older style 1995-1999 then it's the first generation. If the car is the 2000 to 2003 it's the second generation first style, and 2003-2005 is the second generation second style. I'm not sure when the actual manufacture date would have been, what matters is the style of the car.

I'm guessing he's got a first generation or a second generation second style. You'll be able to tell by looking at the front bumper skin, headlights or tail lights.

Alternatively, you could get him to check out the 10th digit of his VIN#. Below is a translation of what year model he's got.

S - 1995
T - 1996
V - 1997
W - 1998
X - 1999
Y - 2000
1 - 2001
2 - 2002
3 - 2003
4 - 2004
5 - 2005
6 - 2006
