My wife was driving the Neon home yesterday and it started overheating. By the time I got home from work the engine was cool but very very low on coolant. I refilled with new coolant and started the car. I let it idle for several minuets and didn't notice any leaks. Then when the thermostat opened coolant started shooting out from underneath the radiator cap and getting all over the drive belts. Has anyone else ever had a radiator cap just go bad at a totally random time? Or is there another problem IE: plugged radiator or something else causing the coolant pressure to exceed the radiator design specs? I'm picking up a new cap today after work. Hopefully it fixes the problem
