Default Picks of my stock 05' SXT and to do list!

I just joined the forum about 2 weeks ago after my brother in-law told me about this place. I was constantly calling him for information about modifying a neon. He works on mercedes for a living and could not give me many specifics. Just so everyone knows I am not mechanically inclined nor have I ever worked on a car EVER!! I am taking this on with no knowledge or experience. But I am learning. I bought this 05' SXT in August and have just now starting looking into all of the mods for the neons. This is my second neon, my first was an 02' but I sold it and bought a Mitsu Galant GTZ. Really liked it but had a few to many miles on it and really wanted a project car. So here I am learning as I go. Thanks to alot of your help I have compiled my "To Do List". K & N CAI, Magnaflow catback exhaust, Pacesetter headers, MPx throttle body, MPx or Zapp underdrive pulley (haven't decided which one yet), Fidanza adjustable cam gear, ZEX competition cams, nology plug wires, and an octane or evo 5 duraflex body kit. I am also doing a lot of interior cosmetic mods to give it a personalized look like: Blue and black racing seats, blue shifter, blue e-brake, blue racing pedals, diamond plate floor mats, aluminum gauge overlay, blue rvinyl dash board trim set, Jensen CD/DVD all in one media player with a 7" flip out monitor (wife's only requested mod), and for the outside carbon fiber altezza tail lights, m3 carbon fiber blue LED mirrors, carbon fiber hood with a scoop, bullet fenders, and 17" black high gloss rims with a chrome lip and chrome bolts. Wow this list looks big after writing it all down. I have a lot of work ahead of me. Does anyone have any suggestions. I haven't begun anything yet so I'm open to what works. You would probably know what is best. I am looking to start buying some parts in the next 3 weeks. I also don't have any clue about suspension mods. I don't want a rough ride but I want good handeling. Can someone help with what struts, springs, tower bars, and any other suspension parts work the best. Thanks for reading and thanks for any replies. I really appreciate the flow of information form this site. Look at how much I've learned in the past two weeks. When I joined I didn't even know what a CAI was. Let me know what you think.

Nice ride. I like the blue color. Sounds like a good list. First thing I would do kinda depends on what you want. When I got mine about 2 years ago.....I lowered it first cause I couldn't stand how it looked like it rode so high. Plus the handling was only mediocre when stock. I have mine dropped with some pretty stiff sway bars on now and it holds it own in the curves. If you want to go for power mods...I'd go with a CAI. If you have manual tranny you could also get a short throw shifter with booger bushings. The stock shifter sucks, its like rowing a boat compared to a short shifter. Theres some ideas for ya. You can check my gallery thats under my name, I believe I have stock and modded pictures in there. Have fun!

I am not really sure what MTX and ATX mean. I am guessing that it stands for manual trans or auto trans? If so I have an auto. It sucks but the wife drives it some times and doesn't like manuals. Otherwise I would have just bought the SRT-4. Let me know if I was right on the abbreviations.

Looks good sx. You have traffic in Canada? LOL....kidding. Are you referring to clutch itself or the pedal? I just wish the pedal had more "feel" instead of being kind of "spongy".

Looks exactly like mine! I just wish my list of mods were that long. That or my wallet was full enough to accomodate all of them. Right now I'm still saving my pennies for window tint and hopefully sometime in the next year some rims!!

I'm jealous!

actualy, i do wish it had more feel, when i shift, it feels like steping on a nerf ball.

nice car, but the auto trans. sucks, automatics in my theory are not as much fun and are slow or slower than stick. i wouldnt invest to much into the engine if its auto just make it a show car.
