So, how much snow ( if applicable ) have you ever gone through on your neon? me? 10 inches of powder. 7 inch drifts.

 

I've gone through snow up to my bumper. It came up to about the bottom of the honeycomb grill part on the bumper. It was an unplowed parking lot last year where I was going to try and do donuts but it turned out that all I tried to do was not to get stuck because there was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more snow then I had thought. Car was lowered but still snow up to the bumper is DEEP. I almost didn't make it out. Here is a pic of my friends suby in what I drove through. This year haven't had much snow so I don't know how much now. I have snow tires so I would imagine I could go through deeper snow. Last year I did that with all seasons...

Only had my Neon a couple months. 2005 SXT. Sadly we didn't fare well our first snow excursion. :/

In the Neon's defense, we had to go downhill, in blizzard conditions (visibility maybe 5 feet), and I was probably going a little too fast when we had to take a curve. The snow was just kicking up, so, maybe 6 inches were on the ground. The road turned, we didn't thanks to no traction. Ended up striking the passenger side front wheel flat against a curb at around 25 mph. Wheel ended up jumping the curb.

Believe it or not though, I was able to back out and drive away. All it needed was a new alignment ($80).

 

My wife's 2002 ES has traction control and I think as long as it doesn't get highsided it will pull through some pretty deep stuff. Have gone through probably 8 inches intentionally and it just doesn't seem to effect it. It's also very good at pulling away from a stop on ice. Very capable winter car on just all season radials.

 

Just the other night I had to stop on a fairly steep incline...which happened to be completely iced over pavement because a bunch of people are idiots and don't know how to stay on the road. Anyhow....once they got out of my way. I started driving up the hill on hella slippery ice mind you, just lightly spinning the tires for a second. The people in front of me had to back up and get a rolling start. HAHA.

 

Bout 3 inches of liquid sunshine (water)......we haven't seen snow down here in decades......

They inlaws from Katie, Texas (a suburb of Houston) got snow (all of half an inch) last year. I remember some of their kids scrounged up all the snow from their deck to make 3 whole snowballs and wanted to sell them on e-bay. After all, it's not often you see snow in Texas.

 

my neon is lowered 1.8 inches, and i have a cold air intake, so far i havent took any chances driving on snow over 3 inches

 

Most I've taken my Neon through up here (Southeast Alaska)...a foot? Maybe more, not sure, didn't whip out my ruler. Our snow is nasty, though...powder that takes no effort to push through, but once it gets packed down...it's like driving on ice, and once you start sliding, you don't stop until you hit something solid. Definitley the last year I go without 4WD...I miss my T-100.

 

In Edmonton, Alberta we haven't had any real snow yet. Very unusual....love that Global Warming!! There has been a bit of ice and I noticed that traction isn't as great as with the Windstar. Probably because of the lighter vehicle or not so great all-season tires.
