Default RE: Pacesetter headers

Hey guys, I just got a Pacesetter Header from Modern Performance.com and I was wondering why it isnt like other headers that you can just bolt on? in the instructions it say it has to be welded on, but when i asked around people are freaking out as to why we have to weld it on...if any1 out there has a solution or something hit me back!

oh and heres the link to the headers i bought for my 2005 dodge neon sxt

pacesetters are cheeper because they are only tac welded. so you need to have it completely welded around each conection between the pipes and even the flange which connects to the block. They do this because its cheeper and takes less time to produce one. This is why I am going with an obx which is only 50 dollars more and is already welded completely. Also its suppose to fit better so I would have just gone with the obx. I you could get your money back and go with obx I would but your local muffler shop would probabley weld it up really good for 20-30 dollars. And it should bolt right up from that point.

Weld it on??? I had someone else install my Pacesetter header for me and I don't think he welded it on. Hmmmm. I know I had to go back and re-tighten it though.

They bolt on. He's talking about welding the header. From my understanding you want a long tube header if you want to make good power with a N/A engine. And if I'm not mistaken both are short tube headers.

What the hell are you talking about?????????? Why would they sell a product that is not completly finished??? Get your facts straight please before you look like a total ***. The welding they are talking about is to the cat, which is not needed, but recomended.

I knew that was wrong info. When I received my header, I looked at my directions and didn't remember anything of that nature.

I am positve that SOME pacesetters are not completley finished I have had multiple people including friends buy them and end up having to have things done so I do have my facts straight I am just not postive with the pacesetter one for the neon true, but would STILL rather go with the obx just to be safe.

I very highly doubt there is any manufacturer out there that is not going to completly weld the header together. Just think about what you are saying. If so I would like to see a pic, doesn't matter if its for a neon, honda, mustang, you show me a site that sell headers that are only tack-welded.
