More novice questions????????
Okay, I am still in the research portion of moding my 05 sxt atx. I would like to know when you would typically need a high flow fuel pump, when do you switch to better fuel injectors and what lbs. do you go with, and do you have to replace the fuel rails? Also, would there ever be a need for a high flow oil pump? One more question. What is the benefit of having a larger bore piston and what about a longer rods? What do they do and why would there be a need for longer rods? Thanks everyone.

RE: More novice questions????????
Well let me start off by saying you dont really need to upgrade your injectors, fuel rail, or fuel pump, unless you plan on running some boost on your car. As for the pistons and rods, those also go along with upgrading your engine to handle and produce more HP...for example, if your bought a turbo kit you would only be able to run lets say 6-10psi of boost, but if you upgraded pistons, rods, etc... skies the limit when it comes to boost (there are maNY OTHER THINGS TO UPGRADFE WHEN RUNNING HIGH AMOUNT OF BOOST, PISTONS AND RODS ARE JUST ONE OF MANY...). Thats where the injectors, fuel pump, and fuel rail come in (partly). With your stock fuel pump it limits your potential "top speed", among other things, since your engine burns more fuel at higher rates of speed, thus there would be a point where your fuel pump simply couldnt pump enough fuel fast enough, this is where the injectors play a role also.
So there are many things that your overall fuel system will affect, i'm sure there's much more you should know about these things, but for more specifics or clarification i'm sue theres someone on these boards much more knowledgable than I.lol.
Anyway, good luck with modding your SXT, if you put some time and money into it you can make a very nice car!
