I think you guys are good canidates for the performance valve body. Don't forget these cars were designed to be econo cars not race cars. The valve body will firm up the shifts real nice and its not that hard to do if you take your time.

I may be a little nuts. But since I put in the performance valve body. It is cool when you are doing 40mph. And you mat the peddle and it hits 5500+ Rpm. and when the car goes into 2nd and jumps like a rear wheel drive. There is not any problem with acceleration.

Yeah, I've been looking everywhere for a performance valve body for my 4speed auto.
So far I've only found one for the 00-01 3 speed... weak.

Where can we find a performance valve body?
That may help mine, but I'm not sure. Mine's getting to where if I'm stopped and I punch it ever so slightly (not nearly to the floor) it starts to jitter like it doesnt want to go in gear. It also shutters a bit when going up hills like its not getting juice.

I'm thinking I have a fuel pump/injector problem or a tranny problem maybe, but I hope not.

I have the same problem with my 05 SXT , but i've noticed that if and when I've been driving my car kind of of hard for a while the problem goes away.test it out and see if it works for you.

I am really confused now, if you have a MTX how are you launching?? Try bringing your RPMs up to 2500-3000 and then feather the clutch out and you should launch with out spinning the tires and take off like a bat out of hell. If you wanna smoke um, 2500-3500 and let right off the clutch and theres the smoke. IF those don't work your doin something wrong or you need a tune up bad. I have smoked the tires with a bad cylinder in my 98.
