Engine light has come on with this trouble code. Short on cash so trying to decide if I have to take it to the dealer right away or do I have a couple of weeks before the engine blows up??? Can anyone let me know what this trouble code means? Thanks

 

P0171 indicates that one of your cylinders is running lean, specifically bank 1. This could be as simple as a plugged fuel injector. Try running some fuel injector cleaner through, if you haven't already. It could also be a plugged fuel filter or fuel pump. Those can be a bit more serious, but I wouldn't worry about it too much. I run a fuel injector cleaner through my car about once a month but you don't really need to do it that often.
