Default CD player

well my car ('04 Neon SE) came with the 6 speaker audio system (which is wierd since its an SE) but for some strange reason it didnt come with a CD player. I was wondering which would be cheaper getting Dodge to install a CD player vs. buying a CD player + dash kit and doing it myself. I know decks these days tend to be pretty expensive because of all the extra features they stick on them (which i have no intrest in at the time.) But then again they probably charge an arm and leg at the dealer for a cheap little deck.

Personally, i would just buy my own cd player because it's cheaper to install yourself. Not sure on how much extra it cost for the dealer to do it, but w/o all the extras, an aftermarket cd player is as cheap as 100.00. It cost around 50.00 to get it installed if not sure how to do it. That's just what i would do, i've installed them myself, so it makes it cheaper.

You should be able to find an in-dash 6 cd player on ebay for less than a hundred bucks. But if your looking for the aftermarket look you just need to look around for the best deal. Oh and you should be able to install either one yourself quite easily, that will save you some money...

Bro I got the stock stereo (cd version), it's practically in perfect condition if you want to buy it off me. I'll even send you a connecter so you can plug in your ipod or any other mp3 player directly into it. WAY better quality than a tape adapter or a fm reciever. I paid $50 for the connecter alone. It's off my 03 SE. Please let me know, I'll take some pictures if you'd like. We can work out a deal. It's extremly easy to install, I can write you up some simple instructions even. I just bought a deck so I don't need it anymore. But If I could do it again, I'd put my $420 towards performance in a second. I spent 200 on a deck, 20 for a deck adapter, 20 for an antenna adapter, and another 200 on speakers. No way was it worth buying aftermarket stuff. (At least for me) My cds and mp3 player sounded a little bit better, but my radio quality actually got worse. Everything I got was Alpine too, which is supposed to be a good brand. [:@] If I were you, I'd stick to the stock.

i am not interested at this point in time. i am a little low on cash right now (having a hard time finding someone who can give me a job and work around my class schedule) so spending a lot of money on something i dont absolutely need isn't at the top of my list. i was just simply asking the question while it was on my mind.

i suppose if you were going to sell it dirt cheap i might consider it, i dont need the iPod connector considering i dont have one and the MP3 i have holds less than a CD. if it was me i would sell it on ebay because i think you will get more there then what i am willing to pay.

The lowest I'll go is $40 + shipping. You'll get the connecter too though. I want to sell both things together, sorry.

i have sold stuff on e-bay and amazon and theres nothing to it and i have never had trouble with someone not paying. just make sure you request credit card or pay-pal that way you make sure you get your money before sending it. if you use allow them to use cash or check make sure you specify you have to recive the money before shipping the item (most people dont do those though, cause neither party trusts the other)

thats a good price but like i said right now i shouldnt really be spending that much money in one place. thanks for the offer though.

I would go with aftermarket, but if you can pick up the stock one from BDM for $40 + shipping thats not a bad deal.
