Stock Tire Size
I just joined the board today, and have had my '04 neon for about 6 months and was wondering about tire size. I notice the 185x60x15 tire size is not that common. Could I run say a 195x60x15 or 205x60x15 with our much problem, they seem to be more common.
Thanks

205's will be a little wide for your stock rims. 205/25.4=8.1" wide on a 6" wide rim. The diameter willbe 1" greater as well. You may run into issues with rubbing up front. Ask someone who has tried this previously. The 195's are a safer bet.
The total height of the stock 185/60R15 tire is 23.7"
The total height of a 195/60R15 tire is 24.2". Fine, but 195/55R15's (23.4") would be better.
The total height of a 205/60R15 tire is 24.7". 205/55R15's (23.9") would definitely be better, and wider wheels would be much more reliable with tires that wide.
With the stock tires on there, do you have a full half inch clearance between the top of the tire and the bottom of the spring perch? That's where you're going to rub first with a taller tire. Do you understand what all those numbers in the tire designation mean? The second number ("profile") isn't a fixed number, it's a percentage of the tread width (first number, which isn't always very accurate). Tread width is not the same as section width (available from the manufacturer), which is what you want to know to find out if the tires will rub on the rear training arm or fenderwell, depending on your wheel offset (stock is +40mm). And different manufacturers have different ideas about how wide of a wheel you need to use their tire safely. www.tirerack.com is a great resource for tire specs, as are the manufacturers' websites, most of the time. Stick with a tire diameter/height that is closest to your stock height, and a width that is puts the to the "design wheel width" as close to your actual wheel width as possible.
Best of luck!
