Im new to this site and I have a 2005 neon SXT. Just started to mod it and was wondering what kind of exhaust to get to make it quieter. Im soon going to be putting a turbo in it and I want to be able to hear the turbo spooling over the exhaust. There are alot of ricers here and the look on there face when all you hear is a turbo on what looks like a stock Neon would be priceless. Any help whould be greatly appreciated.

well it depends on what type of exhaust you want
if you want like the srt4 im not sure if you can get a silencer for that, that is already made
but if you were to go for like a n1 muffler than you can probably get a silencer that already comes with it.

get a r/t muffler it flows better and it looks cool

 

Except if he is going turbo he's going to need more than a 2.25" exhaust...he'll need at least a 2.5" or 3". If he was going N/A then i would suggest the R/T muffler since its not quiet but its LOUD either...

 

You want quiet.....leave it stock.

 

Since it is getting turboed you do not wanna leave it stock. You have to go larger turbos hate back pressure. You wanna go with the srt-4 exhaust and have someone make a silencer for it. I am sure it would be worth it.

 

keep it stock and get one of these welded too a straight pipe so you just flip a switch if you wanna go fast and wake up every living thing in the county

 

I appreciate all the help. I think Im going to go with the srt-4 exhaust and have a silencer fabracated on it. hopefully that works and I should have picks of it when complete.
