Borla Exhaust
realistically you're only looking about 3-5hp gain, but I wouldn't trust those numbers until you see it on a dyno. In the end, the numbers mean nothing, it's all about performance and how you use it. It's absolutely priceless to beat the panties off of a car that cost twice as much as yours did. Mustangs, BMW's, Volvo's have all fell victim to a Neon, but that doesn't stop them from trying.
The exhaust system is a good start, slap a TRUE cold air intake on there and you'll probably see some additional gains from the better pass-through. Enjoy.

HEy your better off getting the rear section off of an srt-4. It has a straight through design and bolts directly to the stock location. It actually gives your a ten to 20 horsepower gain. I got mine dinoed. I have a k&n cold air intake. It all comes down to how your car is driven and how much you beat your car. I have extremely low miles on my car and the eingine is still in its prime. Good luck finding stuff but the headers are a must.
I know my neon is not going to be a fast car, hey i just turned 16 so its my first car. But i just wanted something that sounded better the the crappy exhaust it has stock on it right now. So if i were looking for sound would the borla be the way to go.
HEy any car can be a fast car and honestly neons are a pretty good start. You just need to take care of your vehicle and keep it up to date on tune ups and other stuff. For sound quality borla is pretty good but like I said in the previous post you should try out the srt-4 exhaust it is pretty good for being a stock exhaust on a car. It is as high flowing as our gonna get without removing the cat and still getting decent backpressure. Plus it is alot cheaper. You can find them on ebay for under 150 bucks.

You did not just say 10-20hp gain. What dyno did you go to, the fullof****ometer? Post your dyno of before and after if this is true because everyone would run the srt4 exhaust if it gave 10-20 hp. You'd be lucky if you got 5hp gain. So come on...post it up. I'm sure your car dyno'ed above the rating dodge places on neons as well too didn't you?

If you do a SRT-4 exhaust swap, don't you have to do a cat back swap, not just the rear section? The SRT-4 has 2 resinators in the mid pipe and nothing in the rear section. If you swap out just the rear sections, you'll end up with nothing but stright pipe from the cat back.
If that's true, will the stock SRT-4 exhaust ( mid pipe back ) be a direct bolt in without any problems?

The only way I can see u getting a 10-20 hp gain is if your engine is very very highly tuned and totally re-done with a turbo. Even with that, 20 hp. LOL.[X(]
With the Borla I'd also say about a 3-5 hp gain.
