Whats up. I have a kid down the street fromme who has a 2003 saturn ion. With the 2.2 liter ecotec motor in it. I know most of the cars that I can beat but, I don't race that often and am wondering if I would kill his car or if it would be close. I have a k&n cold air intake and a brand new stock srt-4 exhaust minus the resonator so basically it it straight thru excpet for the cat. I would love to shut him up. So give me some feedback.

2003-up Neon MTX vs. Ion - I'm still betting on the Ion, although close if the Ion is ATX...

Take it to a track, post a timeslip showing you won, show the numbers on both cars to prove it, and I'll reimburse your track entry fee (paypal) up to $20. Racing on the street isn't going to prove anything. I can "kill" a Corvette if I get a 2/10 second jump...

It would be a close race so go to the track and find out the old fashion way...by racing him.

 

i got beat by a 2.2 ecotec cavalier theother week, it was close until i got to like 50 then he owned me....so yea...

I got beat by a sunfire gt MTX in my 01 R/T. i lost most of my time off the line and caught up to him in the 1/4 mile. None the less he still won.

 

The ion that wants to race me is a four door not the 2 door version which means it is a little heavier and the stock horsepower varies from the 2 door. I don't know if that makes much of a defference. The ion is also bone stock.

 

Just race the ion and find out. Its not gonna be a slaughter, either way its gonna be pretty close.
