Default original goodyear tires

Has anyone else thought the original goodyear tires did not last long enough ? I had the ones on my 2002 sxt replaced at 24 K miles. Treadware is not their good point. My oldest daughter had the same ones on her 1999 escort ZX. Same thing, after 20k , better start looking for replacements.
An other problem when replacing the Neon's tires several dealers said that there is no optional size for replacement, only the original size that came from the factory. This seems to limit brands and tread patterns. Just an observation.

Glad you brought that up, I have 800+ miles on my new Neon, hopefully the tires last. The key to long lasting tires is rotating them every 5,000 miles or so.

I had my tires on till 28,2xx miles and by then they was no tread left at all...get used to this if you ever buy performance tires of any kind however.

Yes the goodyears suck. Thats why they are not on my car. I probably put like 20 thousand on mine before I took them. Still probably half tread maybe. But the traction is horrible on any pavement. Dry, wet, icy, snowy, any condition they suck. Now I have performance summer rims/tires and winter tires on the stock rims. I'm good to go now.

I replaced my 175/70R14 Goodyear Integrity with 185/65R14 BF Goodrich Traction TA H speed rating. Wow what a difference. 21,000 mile later 2 tires are down to 9/32" and 2 are at 8/32" not bad and they ride good work well in the snow and and wet.

Officially a 440 AA A UTOQ rating. Ever since BF Goody was bought by Michelin things are looking up!!!
