torque for header bolts

Default torque for header bolts

hey i was wondering if there was a specific torque for the header bolts or should i just do them really tight

probably 60-70 lbs not a heck of allot dont want to break the head off the bolt..... i've done it and its not fun to fix.

NOT all that tight. 200 INCH-pounds, so 16.5ish ft-lbs. You'll strip that aluminum head a lot faster than you'll break the head off a steel bolt, trust me... Torque sequence is starting with the bottom center bolts, and working out from there. I usually make at least 3 passes to make sure it's the right torque all the way across, then go back and check it after a day or two of driving.

Heat shield bolts are 95 IN-lbs. The flange bolts (exhaust piping) are 250 IN-lbs. For the manifold support bracket... the horizontal bolt (M10) is 40 ft-lbs, the vertical bolt (M12) is 70 ft-lbs.
