Need some help QUICK.
I need some help on my gf's 2001 neon. One of the piece's of the center vents came loose and fell back down inside the a/c box behind the dash. I took the botton piece off of the air box and it wasn't in there. So I got to feeling around and found the piece behind the door that shuts off the air from coming up to your face when change the setting on the control ****. So I got the piece out, and now the damn thing will not close the door the shuts off the air to your feet. THe control **** will only move between the face/feet setting, and feet/defrost. But when its set on feet/defrost, no air comes out of the vents. I took the center dash area apart, and looked at the wires that feed from the ***** to the doors, and the wire that feeds the control **** will not pull back. I don't know if something has came loose or got hung on something. But when I tried to get piece to the vent, I had to pull like hell on the one door to get the piece to come through. Can anyone please help me figure out what I need to do and how to do it? I've read how to take the dashboard apart, but does that include taking the front part all apart where I can get to the hvac box??
Thanks

If you end up having to replace that section, then you'll have to take the top and bottom parts of the dash off... Very possible one of those flaps is damaged. I don't remember if they're plastic or metal, or how they attach.
Best of luck!
