02 sensor problem
I just recently installed a header and had to put on a flex pipe instead of the resonator/high flow cat that I bought. The bung is welded to far down the pipe and the wires wont reach for the connection. Does anyone know if dodge or another company makes an o2 sensor extention, or should I just have a muffler shop weld in a new bung?
Just extend the wires. Go to your local autoparts store, by automotive grade wire, and get to soldering. I would use shrink tubing over the splice then cover with a few wraps of electrical tape just to make sure that no moisture or dirt gets near the splice.
www.casperselectronics.com sells 12" and 24" extensions. But without a cat, how were you planning on getting around the invitable CEL? Caspers also sells O2 simulators, by the way...
Best of luck!

I'm not splicing the wires, could cause it not to work and I know if I need to use my warranty it would be voided. So my guess is I'm probabley just gonna have to get a new bung welded in.
Again, the CEL? If you don't have a cat, you're going to get a code for cat efficiency. I wouldn't bother welding anything in, just go with the simulator and plug the hole you've got.
The I am buying a simulator, the PROBLEM is that the wire is not long enough to reach to the bung for the o2 sensor b/c so jap welded it in the wrong place. So I have to get a bung welded closer or extend the wires. Theres no way to extend the wires so I'm left with a new bung to weld closer.
Run a simulator. Then you do not have to move the bung. You just plug the bung with a plug. The simulator plugs into the wiring where the o2 sensor would plug into, just behind the engine.

Got everything in a running in to let you guys know. Now the muffler goes in b/c so much air flow and that stock muffler sounds like ****. I post a video when I get the muffler in. Thanks for all the help
