body kits ( best place )
well i plan on getting a body kit this month for my 05 sxt. i was wondering how much work has to be done just to get it to fit the car, i know it probably varies. there are only a few places in town to get body kits from and they cost a few hunded than some places on the internet. basically what i am getting to is would it be better to pay the extra money and get it done in town so that they could put it on and if something happens ( like if they crack it ) they are responsible or just save money and buy it online.
The difficulty in installation will depend on what material the body kit is made out of, if you buy a fiberglass kit your more likely to cack something trying to get it to fit. However, if you buy a urethane kit than you can just heat up the section thats giving you trouble and bend it into place...it should be easy either way since the kit is made to fit your car, but you could run into little places where something sticks out too far or doesnt fit exactly, but if you buy a good kit that shouldnt be a problem.
To answer your question is a lil difficult.
Ordering bodykits from online is usually cheaper, but you get hit hard on the shipping usually. Ordering bodykits in-town is usually better, but you also deal with the taxes and waiting on their shop to get around to it. This can be super fast and it could be super slow....just depends on the store.
The other things you have to factor in when ordering them, is the cost of having them painted and the hassle of installing them. Unless you have decent knowledge of cars or someone who does that can assist you in this, and the tools to do it, I dont recommend trying to do this on your own.
The best way to do this is this......
Find a body kit that you like both online and at a local store. Do a price comparison on how much it would cost you to order it online vs. ordering it thru the store. Also, find out if ordering it thru the store would get you a discount on painting it/installing it. This could be a huge difference, as some stores will cut you anywhere from 5-25% off on services when you order things thru them. If the store has a better overall deal on the kit/paint/installation vs. you ordering it online and paying for the paint job/installation, then go that route. However, if you can get a better deal doing it online, then go that route.
One last thing to consider, is how long your car will have to be apart while doing this. If this is something you cant do in a weekend...it may be better off getting done by the shop.
Personally, I always think its better to have a place local that is responsible for things then it is to have to mail something back all the time.

I orderd mine from bodykits.com the front and side skirts fit great btw it was fiberglass. the rear i orderd form a local store, it was urithane but the guy told me it was fiberglass. if i were you id order it yourself. I thought the urathane was good but i taped the rear once and it cracked up the hole side. i hit the front a few times and it just scraped and alittle spyder crack but its up to you. all i no is that the urathane is more expensive.
ok.... thatnks for all the help. i ordered the kit from a local store. and it was alot cheaper than i expected. online i would have payed 750 shipped, one local store was 845 + tax, the last store and the one i ordered from was 690. now i jusst have to find out how much it will cost to get it painted but im expecting somewhere around 500.
www.modernperformance has some. howell automotive have one it looks real nice. and nopi has some but nopi has more than the others to choose from more up to date. putting those kits on are easy. just make a templete of your screw wholes and transfer. when you take the front and back off you going to have something on there for extra reinforcement. the good thing about them they unbolt so you dont have to cut them off like most cars. there easy to put on it just take a little bit of time.
