RE: CAI Name brand vs. Ebay
I opted for the mounting braketry that was "Engineered" into my K&N Typhoon and seeing how solidly it mounts everything up am VERY pleased with it performance. Everything went in great, Great instruction viewing a REAL car and NO RATTLES!

Is that the only difference? The price difference is huge... has anyone purchased a 'knock-off' from ebay? What is the quality like?

The difference is the Ebay CAI comes with a crappy filter and the high quality K&N comes with the best filter on the market. Plus the K&N comes with picture illustrated instructions from a Neon install for those people just getting started on modding their cars.

Yeah, its true, they do come with a crappy air filter as i found out. I bought my cai off ebay for around 30 bucks, one of the cheapest one's there, the piping is cool and all but the air filter just sucked. Somehow i got lucky, I ordered one and paid for one but when i received the package i got a set of two cai, weird but cool . But yeah, so what i ended up doing was buying a K&N air filter and it works fine now. I believe i saved myself a few hundred bucks. Also, depends where you live, since i live in california these ebay intakes are not realy legal and happens if you buy those brand name cai like K&N or AEM, they all have a CARB expempt sticker, making them legal. I dont know much but i think california is the only state that has this law for emissions and stuff like that, so if you dont live in cali, your good to go.
