I know there is a forum of "how to make my 2nd gen neon faster " but i purely want acceleration. HOw can i make my acceleration better without spending over 200 dollars? Thanks

 

It's pretty simple; POWER EQUALS MONEY.
200 dollars? Good luck. For that I'd buy an intake or header but it wont do much at all.

You'll see better accelleration and better power with the more money you put into your car. 200 dollars will give you nothing power wise. It will get you either a header that needs a port-match, or an intake. Either one will give you better performance over stock.

For the most bang for your buck for accelleration, i guess i would recommend a budget for about 2,000 bucks, and getting:

Intake
Exhuast
Header
TB
PCM (which i have no idea if it works. Conflicting stories. Up to you)

Judging from you listed MODS I would have to say Prothane Race Motor Mount Inserts and Vitor's Trans Mount Inserts this should help you launch harder. Then if wheel hop is still evident a urethane bushing kit.

I have those and I still wasn't satisfied; that's why I'm doing what I'm doing to my car. Since u have a 2002 u could prob get the AFX PCM. It's pretty cool but like I said, I still wasn't satisfied. I'll hopefully get my car back by the end of this week and I'm going to see how it runs then[sm=gears.gif].

 

BTW; u can find inserts at Howell automotive or Modern performance. Compare prices.

 

Well I dont think its possible to be "satisfied" with acceleration on a N/A Neon...and if your budgeting $2,000 for mods (as Freerider suggested), you can get a complete SRT turbo setup and run 6-8psi for that price, and then you'll be satisfied with your acceleration! (at least until you want to run 12-15 and have to build it up)
