Lurching when coming to a stop
My daughters 2003 SXT (automatic trans) sporadically lurches when she is coming to a stop. I had it in to the dealer and they found nothing. The problem continues - anyone have a similar problem and if so, what is the remedy? [&:]
my first thought was warped rotors, and that should have been the first thing that a mechanic would look at when you're having braking issues. look at the front rotors and see if you notice any unusual wear or lines in the rotors. i would have a mechanic take it for a road test, its usually the easiest way to figure out a brake problem.
I had something similiar happen on my 2005 dodge neon, check to see if their are any tears or cuts in the throttle body tube. My car kept lurching at a stop, and the motor would rev over 4000 rpm when I started the vehicle, motor would keep reving at a stop, etc... I noticed the throttle body tube was completely warped and had an inch and a half tear. I replaced it and that resolved the issue.
Should not be - I had brakes re-done in November. It's my daughter's car so I don't really drive it. Problem is very intermittent and she says she can tell when it's going to happen because it "shudders" just before.
I will have them check the throttle body tube. They are now saying it could be in the electrical system or the transmission.
