Default PLEASE HELP! speedo calibration

i don't know whether anyone can help me out but i'm in need of serious help.
i just got my third speeding ticket in a year and my license is going to taken away on this coming court date unless someone can offer me a solution.
i got caught for speeding 40/25, and after talking to a lawyer, he told me to do a speedometer calibration.
the mileage on the car is only 24k so i don't think there will be a problem with the speedometer.

so i would like to know..
is there anything i can do so that when i bring my car to a mechanic to do a speedometer calibration, it will be off by like 2mph?
is there anything mechanics, in nothern va, who can hook me up with a deal?

please please please help.

The only way to make your speedo read wrong (intentionally) is to add larger tires and rims (or if you have a defective speedometer)...a dealership is the only place that can calibrate a speedometer on a Neon because its all electronic.

Different diameter tires, the speedo needle has been pulled off and put back on (for indiglo gauges, for example), or the speedo sensor is faulty (and/or PCM for 2nd gens). There are no adjustable pots on the instrument cluster's circuit board to calibrate the speedo like some older cars if you have a 1st gen. If you have a 2nd gen, then it's coming directly from the PCM, definitely no adjustments.

Speedos are required by U.S. law to read the actual speed or higher. They can never read lower than actual speed. If the speedo sensor or PCM is faulty, they should be covered by your warranty. Still, 15 mph over the speed limit? No court on earth is gong to believe your speedo is off that much. I realize that fast is enough to peg you for reckless driving in VA, and I do fell a little sorry for ya.

Best of luck!

went to talk to a lawyer and he said that IF it is off by 2mph, he can get the judge to dismiss it.
so larger tires and rim.. damn! and this is not even my own car!

40/25 on a 6 lanes 2 direction road.
only later did i find out that road is a speed trap area where the police officers get their income.
and yesterday i was on route 81 and 66, i saw 11 patrol cars. i think it's the officers pay day soon or something.
