Fuel Pump Install
If you car is lowered you will need to jack the car a little bit.inch or two for clearance.
Unhook battery to be safe.
You will need to drain the tank to under a 1/4 of a tank.
Place a floor jack under the fuel tank.
Unhook the fuel hoses and the fuel vapor hoses as well as fuel pump electrical connector.
Unbolt the driver's and passenger side fuel tank straps.
The tank should be resting on the jack and you should be able to move the tank up and down using the jack.
Lower the jack enough so the canister is at an angle towards the passenger side.
Take a punch and mallet and hit the ring to loosen it(or do this before dropping the straps to keep the tank from moving around)
Pull the canister and rubber sealing ring.
If the replacement canister doesn't have the sealing ring put the old one on.
Install in reverse.

you can get to it without removing the gas tank....you just need to maneuver the pump in and out of the tank....i have replaced a lot of these fuel pumps and never once removed the tank
