I can't fit 17's on my 05 SXT...WTF?
I went today and had some 17's test fitted on the rear of my Neon 05 SXT. They showed me that the wheels will rub against a suspension part. That's without a tire even beng on there. i need to know how to get the 17's to fit on the rear without rubbing against what looks to be a suspension bar/sway bar at the rear wheels.

MidnightBlueNeon has 17's on his Neon....but his is older....2002-03 I think...
Do you know what size spacers I need.... i see some that are 25mm 30mm 5mm 10mm 15mm. I honestly have the slightest clue. I believe 25 would be plenty but i am looking for a second opinion. thanks
Also if you upgrade the suspision with coilovers, i have coilovers from image performance thats are 36 way adjustable and with them you can fit almost any rim you want in the fender ive seen people put 19's in before.
A stock 2nd gen Neon will only fit up to 18's (with 35 profile tires), 17's with 40 or 35 profile tires... I've had both 18's with 35's and (now) 17's with 40 profile tires...
If it is spacers that you need. I would need to know the offset and width of the wheels... to let you know what size spacers you need...

Well this post kind've concerns me, because I have a 2003 SXT and I'm looking at some 17"x7" with a +40mm offset. I'm also planning a 1.4" drop. Does this sound like I will have a problem with rubbing and such? What size tires do you reccomend I get?
there might be.. but it kinda depends on what size tire you get.. and you can get 7.5 on there if you wanted... but correct me if im wrong .. the bottom of the perches are stationary and it's just the springs that move, so when you lower it the perches should be fine..... unless they get changed during the process, that i'm not too sure of
