Default No take off!

Is is just my neon or are all automatics doggy at first in first gear? I installed a CAI and it helps but not on take off. I don't think that it is possible to spin the tires. Upper rpms are great but the lower seem to be dead. Any suggestions?

I have to agree with Spikey, I have an auto and it sucks at takeoff too. However mine does spin the tire just enough to make a good screech....there is not really all that much you can do about it though.

Yeah the autos are way slower. My grandma has an auto Neon and what a difference between the two.[X(]

Yeah; they have performannce valve bodies for the autos. I have a manual so I have no experience with it but I'd go for it.

you should just get a manual..... it would be better if you're gonna spend money to make it faster.

The autos....well....we can POUR more and more money into them, but it REALLY doesn't make a difference. Get the manual. Trust me.

I just need a reliable car for work right now. So... I guess I will deal with the slow take off. It's not bad once the rpms get over 3000rpm, it's just before it. Oh well.
