Default Extremely squeaky brakes.

I have been told that the brakes on neons tend to be very squeaky due to some sort of accumulating brake dust. My question is, is there any way to fix this problem to make it a lot less noticeable considering every time I get in my car it sounds like its ancient when its only a 2002? If I switched and got the srt brakes is it the same thing? Are there any brakes or braking system that can be added to this vehicle to stop this altogether? I know my quesitons may sound dumb but I am very novice to cars. Thank you in advanced.

Buy better brake pads...OEM sucks.

You can swap in the SRT-4 brake system, and that will give you more options for the future, such as the Wilwood big brake kit...

It wouldnt be too difficult, if you can change rotors, know how to dissasemble your brake system, and stufff like that you should have no problem doing the swap.

So how much would either of these options run me? Where would I go and what would I ask for if I was to buy these products? For example if I went the route of the srt brakes and such can I buy them from the dealership and how much would that costs me? I just hate that squeak stuff so is there any way to have a squeakless brakes? Thank you all for your help.

Unless you want to pay a lot for brand new SRT brakes from the dealers, your best bet is to get used ones off of a wrecked SRT-4...I've seen them as cheap as $200 and as expensive as $500 for the 4-wheel disc conversion...plus this would give you the option for the BB kits later on.

Not to sound like a broken record but... With the srt brake conversion will the brakes still squeak?

I also have an 02, and the brakes, more specifically, the rear ones squeaked like all hell. My fix, and new set of pads and drums from Napa, and problem resolved.
