Hi i recently bought a 2002 neon , base model, i wanted to change the muffler on my car to a high-flow unit but i know very little about cars, i wanted to save a little bit of money and do the job myself, but i dont know what the size of the mufflers inlet port has to be or any of that stuff, i looked at the muffler i have now, its a beast, a lot bigger than what i imagined, and situated in a different way than i imagined, so if i wanted to put a nise exhaust tip on it, i would need an elbow

please help me im lost and i dont know where to start

 

Hey, I'm pretty sure the inlet is 2 1/4" of course with some welding you could have a little different size inlet than 2 1/4".
I got a dtm stainless steel muffler put on my 2002 neon and it has a slight angle, but looks good. They require some work to get them to angle right since the stock muffler is in a weird spot. My muffler was soooo loud after I changed it, I had to put a big glass pack on it to quiet it done a little. Just something to think about. Good luck!
