umm dude thats a little harsh.......probly not the best Idea but no need to call names and act like an ***.

but as far as the original question goes, it is not a very good idea if you want to pass emmissions....and yes it would be riddiculously loud, I mean it would get annoying on the inside....

A well-tuned catback system on average gives you somewhere around 5-10 HP if your lucky. Cutting the exhaust off, even if it didn't end up losing you power, would never give you any noticeable difference, other than a very annoying noise as was said.

You know ive been wondering the same thing because most exhaust systems go for 200-600 bucks. Ive also thought about this and thought the same thing your getting for responses. I'm tryin to find an ehaust system that is sorta like the Srt-4's where as it doesnty have an actual muffler just a cat. If anyone has found anything like this let me know. I've also started to think about side exhaust b/c it can look good if dont right.

Just buy a stock SRT-4 catback if thats what your looking for, just make sure you get a glasspack welded into the midpipe, otherwise it will be crazy loud.

Had a freind who had an old Honda hey used in SCCA racing that plumbed his exhaust out the side (No cat, 4-1 header, and wasted glass pack street muff and exited out the middle of the passenger door) and it was very loud.

The bigg problem is not doing it but resulting ground clearance for things like speed bumps etc. Track use OK street, well that would suck. A well built cat back would be best, but if your more interested in getting louder just get good 2.25" pipe and your favorite fart can stick out the back. It really depends on what you want.
