well true, but the fact that i live in MIAMI it's a lil way to hot, and no, A/C not a question, like someone else stated b4 neons are mad slow with the A/C on plus im automatic lol this is why i was wondering, and as far as gettin it done myself, i would just dont like the way the new controlers would look anywere in the front.

To get back on the subject, the rear windows are manual due to child safety regulations, the same reason they only go down half way. There is the fear that a young child or crazy teen may try to climb out of the rear of the car hitting the power window button and crushing his or her head and body.

i think the manual windows on the backseat is a GREAT GREAT GREAT design.
first, like wut u guyz say, for safety issue.
secondly, i always have lunch in the backseat when i am at school. for getting fresh air in, i dun need to turn on my key half way, but just roll the windows down. it's a pretty good design for the ppl who like me having lunch in the backseat. we dun need to go front and back all the time when we need the windows down and up.
3rd, good for GAS!!!
4th, laugh at the my fds who sit in the backseat that they have to roll the window down, and i, the driver, can use power window. kinda mess them up.....haha....JK!

I've ridden in a Toyota Corolla S with only one power window (the drivers side obviously). Two is better than one in my ES. Yeah, I never ride in the back and I rarely get people who ride in the back so I don't care. When there are people back there I'll ride with the windows up.

I asked this question at the dealer before I bought my 2005 Neon SXT. I was told that Chrysler research indicated that economy car owners rarely carry rear seat passengers so they decided to make only the front windows power to cut cost. A good move in my book. Another reason why I chose the Neon was I wanted the best buy in a 4-door compact that had a respectable back seat that wouldn't torture my kids (2 of whom are adults) or my friends. It's been almost a year and I still like it more the more I drive it. It's comfortable, peppy, handles great, and has lotsa equipment (mine's loaded). It's also the best looking which is a happy bonus!

Arrive alive,

Bill

As far as won't go all the way down for safety NOPE. Just cause ot the cutout for the rear wheel. Roll it down any further and something will break. Common on almost all cars these days. As far as safety for manual windows, PLEASE, a simple driver lock so they can;t get out while on the freeway would be a safety feature. Not let them have control. The reason pure cost.
