Yeah making sure you have solid/clean connections and your grounds are good....A lot of times people make the mistake of thinking a capacitor will fix everything, when more or less it acts as a band-aid for a bigger problem.(Remember your system still needs to charge that capacitor)I'm running close to 2000 watts with everything, no capacitor and I have no headlight dimming...I also did check all of the factory grounds and made changes... I've never used a cap and I don't intend on doing so.

LoL...And please don't run your power wire through your door!!! That may sound like an obvious statement, but you don't know how many cars come through that have it run that way...I spend half my week fixing things like that!!

I remember a local audio shop telling me I needed like a 25 farad capacitor in my car to handle my 1200 watt RMS amp. Head lights were dimming even without the amp installed. Just some crappy grounds. That was in my '66 Mustang though.

A 25-farad capacitor? Holy ****... maybe if you had a 20,000-watt system in your car, in which case you would need to run wiring like you've never seen before, and have an electrical system from hell. I don't even know if that would be possible inside of a Neon, not driveable anyway.

As far as capacitors are concerned, the only difference between the digital and the regular is that the digital just gives you a load readout on it, that's it, it doesn't really do anything else useful.

1 Farad, maybe up to 1.5, is the most that most people will ever need. Keep in mind for the most part, most companies sell amps that are way overrated... they claim "1200 watts, 1800 watts," etc etc... but you can take a 400-watt Kicker or 500-watt JL Audio (with the right power wire) and completely kick the hell out of a 2200-watt "discount" amp. Remember you get what you pay for too... the JL Audio 500/1 still goes for about $450, and the 1000/1 is a lot more, but that's one of the cleanest and loudest ampsmade, period, and is rated off of true RMS power output.

In other words, if you think you have 2000 watts in your car, with a stock electrical system, no capacitors and your headlights never dim, then you don't truly have 2000 watts. Probably more like 350-400 watts. The guy at the store might have told you 2000 watts, and the amp might say it too, but I've been around the block many times with that stuff and like I said, most amps never even come close to what they claim to be.
