OEM AC 2003 Dodge Neon SE
I have a 2003 Dodge Neon SE that I had just purchased. I had been looking around and trying to get a AC/system installed because it did not come with one and I will roast in the summer without one. I was told by a unscrupulous dealer that it could cost 2500-3000... I about jumped 20 feet back. But doing my reasearch dodge sells the compressors and all the parts for about 750$. That was just rediculous of a quote. Am I being lied to or is he for real. How much should I expect to pay. Anything to watch out for? I dont want to be taken advantage of!!! PLEASE HELP

the stealership always tries to make a quick buck wher ever they can. If you are really looking for an AC unit check OEM parts dealers like dodgeparts.com There is your best bet.
Thats a good site thanks.... however I didnt see the AC parts and I do not have the skill to put it in myself. Does anyone know a reasonable estimate to have it installed and would most dealers use parts I supply or will they insist I purchase there parts. Because I found OEM ebay used AC parts such as condensor and the compressorthat even come with warrantees..... Thanks for the help
Hate to say it buddy but ac systems are my shop's speacialty, and a reasonable estimate $2500-$3000 give or take. And you would not believe the work involved, and the amount of new parts you're gonna need.
At least I know he wasnt lieing to me.... Just had to check... Alot of car salesman look like scam artists... Just had to be careful... Anyways at least I know what im looking at price wise. For a job well done im willing to pay that kind of price.. I plan to keep this car till it drives no more! heh... Thanks a bunch you guys... As fall starts Im going to save some money up. Im a car noob so just want to make sure im not scammed cuz he coulda told me 2000 for a job that is worth 500 and if I had the money ida not known any better!
