Is the RB1 only navagation, or does it play dvd's also? Did you install it yourself?
I've been looking into a in dash but the RB1 looks clean. And as mentioned looks stock.

It is only navigation, but it uses a single DVD for all the navigation in the US and Canada. Another nice feature i forgot to mention is the Point of Interest look up...this allows you to browse through different categhories, such as Restaraunts, Shopping, Entertainment, etc...(there are dozens of categorie) and find a place in your city, or whatever city you choose.

And yes, i installed it myself, took about 20 minutes...

so because it uses that DvD does that mean if you wanted to play a CD you would be left without the Navigation? or what?

Its supposed to be used in conjuction with the 6-disc (or 4-disc, but you need an adaptor) cd changer.

Do you ever plan on getting a dvd player in there as well?

Just a thaught.....
Would you beable to get a car dvd player,(just the player no screen) and wiring it to the navi and use the navi's screen. but a external player, say in the trunk or something. Hopefully you can understand what i'm trying to say!!

There isnt much to look at really...but if you insist.

All the good mods are sitting on my bedroom floor, the new springs, all the turbo stuff, and so on and so fourth...

Well the RB1 is a DVD player, but because of safety (and liability) issues DCx doesnt allow you to play normal DVD's on it (but i suppose theoretically some software nerd could get it to play normal DVD's as well)...as for connecting an external DVD player, it could be possible if you wanted to take the RB1 apart and splice a wire running off the main feed line...but at $600 i wouldnt want to try that. The problem is there isnt any auxillary inputs on the back of the unit except for a Sirius antenna hookup.
