when u put your neon in drive put the brake on and give it gas is the motor like really suposed to move up about 6 inches

 

you mean your actual motor is moving 6 inches inside the car or the car itself is moving forward 6 inches???
either one is kind of a problem.
a motor will 'rock' a bit inthe engine bay but i dont know about it moving 6", motor mounts loose or somethin
giving it enough throttle to move it forward with the brakes applied is bad juju altogether on your poor little neon!

 

yea the motor will jerk in the engine bay you do that to test to see if you need new motor mounts, and if you put it in reverse and do it the engine will go the other way. its not good for the car though so you shouldnt do it often
