Then why not just install it in front of the passenger seat? If you really want to watch while she's in the store you can sit in the passenger seat. Pull out your airbag (not legal by the way) and install a monitor in that panel.

Alright, I think he's gotten the point of not watching while driving, I don't think everyone in the forum needs to tell him.

Only saw one other person say it and I felt the need to reinforce it... It would be a dumb idea...

I said it further up. Not that it's a bad thing to be worried about his safety, that's good, it's just best not to keep ragging on him, that's all.

Thats ok cuz as ive already said i wasnt playing on watching it directly while driving..And I need my car and wouldnt put it, my passenger, or myself in a situation that would get us in an accident..Ive already said it was more for her...I just want it visible to me for those times when i can actually watch or play something on it when im bored outa my mind. I dont care how much you rag on me cuz i was directly saying Im going to drive and watch tv..I was just reading alot of the features on the in dash 1's and noticed that they all said wouldnt be activated when car was in drive..THANKS

alot of the indash ones wont play when driving...unless you bypass it.....the reason these units wont play is because they have a wire in the harness that is supposed to be hooked to the e-brake.....when the e-brake is in the up position, the wire gets a ground signal and allows you to watch the screen....when the e-brake is down, it looses the ground andcuts out the screen.......all you have to do is when installing it, take that wire and hook it up to your ground for the radio....then you can watch it whenever.....i had to do that to the screen i had in my durango abd it worked great

if you dont want a bad screen for the money then get a jensen 7 inch flip out....usually runs about $400-$600 ...depending on which model you get

when i had the screen mounted in the dash, i removed the glove box and made some brackets and mounted the PS2 in there....it looked real good and worked great.....

i know in illinois, it is illegal to have a scrren in use when driving anywhere that is visible from the drivers seat....so you might wanna check up on that before you get cought doing sumthing your not supposed too.....besides, LCD screens really light up the car at night

I saw a few in dash 1's from 1500-2300...The law is the same here you can have a screen visible to you when your driving..but if my girl wants to watch it while we are driving at night then ill run a few neons and if i get pulled over for something i just close the Screen. IDK I want to make sure you all understand that im not going to put my first car, even if i had the money, at risk to watch anything. Thanks for the ideas and the concern!

Yep, BAD IDEA,

I understand you say you will not watch it wile driving, and this may be all good and true, but it would be a distraction if in your view wile driving even if "she" is watching it, it will be a distraction, and it may draw your attention off the driving just at the "right" point.

Just hang out with a first responder in an EMT for a short time and see first hand the benifits of having a tv in view wile driving.
