I want to get a 7-10 inch screen for my car but i dont want to put it in the dash..I want something i can watch maybe while driving, who knows..but something directly visible to me in the drivers seat..Will a flip down from the middle of the roof work? or somewhere else to customize? i dont mind if its just the Screen and i can run a dvd player or an xbox from somewhere else? Thanks anyone who has any ideas or places i can get info!

 

if you put it on the roof then its gonna be real close to your head if you wanna watch it while driving......im not sure where you could mount it if you dont want it in the dash.....on my 98 i removed the 2 center air vents and did a little cutting and mounter my 7 inch screen in there....i think it looked pretty good....its a shame i didnt get any pics of it

 

heh i was going to ask if you had any pics..The thing is i like my headunit now..Nothing special just like the look of it..I was thinking of just getting the lcd with audio/vid inputs and running something to it from say under the seat..Ive seen a few peoples cars where they custom made a section for a 7 inch where say my 2 cup holders are in my center console..where they dont exsist anymore..Just wasnt sure how much something like that would cost..Most of the in dash units ive found say you cant veiw while your driving..some sorta lock..thats why i was thinking of going another direction..Idk...flip down from the roof if it bends back far enough might work..but idk. I've seen them in the sun-visors. I think it might have been on Pimp My Ride. Watching while driving is a bad idea though, unless you just mean for a na system or something.

 

Yea i know..I dont want them int he visors cuz the screens are smaller then i was looking for and cost about the same as an LCD..I wont be watching it while im driving inless its a quick glance..Me and my g/f go on trips quite a bit so it woul be nice for her to have something to watch and me when im just sitting in my car when im waiting for her long shopping trips!.

 

I was thinking of custom making the visor one, that way it would be a bigger screen, because yes, the ones you can buy have quite small screens.

dude just buy a 7" flipout screen. thats the most efficent and popular for in dash tvs. a screen coming done from the ceiling is a retarded idea

 

Yea I would have to pretty much agree with nick on this one.... Stick with the Pioneer system, at least thats the one I reccomend. They are great, we just recntly put one in my dad's truck and it is so cool especially with the navigation that came with it.

 

yea for what 2G's? i think my money can go to much better use, and i dont and never said i disagree with you about watching while driving..Like i said it was for more her then me cuz right now she sits a portable 1 in her lap and has to hold it the whole trip.
