Default Oil in spark plug hole

Ok I went out to start my car earlier today and it ran rough so i checked the spark plugs and i pulled i think it was the number 3 cylinder plug and the plug itself was brown from the name down on the spark plug ( like if it was a champion plug it was brown from there all the way down). So i changed all the plugs and noticed that cylinder had oil in it and the boot had oil on it to. Also white smoke is coming out of the exhaust. I dont know what happened overnight but it was runnin fine last night. I didnt think it was a head gasket issue if its only one cylinder. The other three spark plugs were a little brown but not as bad as the number 3 cylinders plug. Does anyone know what it could be? Thanks.

Oil on the tops of a spark plug means it's the tube seals leaking. Get a valve cover gasket set done and it will solve that problem.

Yea.
If the oil is on the outside of the engine at that point. Id say its leaking from above and dribbling down into that hole where its pooling.

What you could do is find a reputable engine shop and ask their mechanic.

im having the same problem but i dont think its "dripping down" i think its coming up from the hole down there but im not sure... im going to have to bring it in and have it checked out..... im betting that a seal just went bad somewhere down there.....

You can do a compresion test on the suspect cylinder..
If the compresion is down then yes. Theres a bad ceal there.

Ok my girlfriend had the same problem she had oil in both her #1 and #2 spark plug tubes. All i had to do was go but a valve gasket kit (which comes with a valve cover gasket and 4 spark plug tube gaskets that go on the underside of the valve cover)from autozone that only costs 19.99 and some gasket sealer. And once i replacedall the gasketsand cleaned the oil out of the tubes the problem was solved. If this doesn't fix it more than likely you have a blown head gasket which isn't an easy fix. I hope that the valve gasket kit fixes it best of luck to you.

Hi, I have the exact same problem my 1,&2 are full of oil. the car started running rough so I thought i would check the plugs other than them being covered in oil they looked fine. I have no smoke blowing from the tail pipes and the oil looks fine dont think the head gasket is blown. but can anyone tell me why the car is running so badly all of a sudden? is it that the 1 &2 are not firing cause of it being oil fouled?
thanks

On my 01, the metal tubes were loose. Got a block of wood and tapped them back down with a hammer. No more oil.
