why....
what is your question. why did they make a higher version or our cars? money lol umm the rt has better fuel map more aggressive cam less restrictive intake manifold and exhaust along with a better trans and some other stuff. it puts out i think 150 at the crank instead of the 132 that the other models have
They made the R/T from 2001-2004...all year R/T's have the same performance parts the ONLY difference being the PCM change in the 03-04 R/T's. Each year R/T cam is slightly different (obviously) but the 2001 R/T cam is the most agressive OEM cam for the Neon.
Performance (engine/tranny) wise:
[ul][*] Better flowing head (basically a race ported SXT head).[*] Better flowing and lighter exhaust manifold (produced by Borla...basically an aftermarket Borla header minus the shiny anti-rust coating).[*] Improved fuel maps and more "agressive" PCM programming.[*] More aggressive cam (equivalent to a Crane #12 or Comp 200).[*] Stronger valve springs (almost as good as Crane titanium valve springs...but not quite).[*] Dual Runner Free-Flowing Intake manifold with electronically controlled secondries.[*] Dual exhaust outlets(but same diameter piping).[*] 3.94 Final Drive transmission...its f'ing amazing.[*] 16" wheels (supposedly "lightweight" but I've never weighed mine)[*] 9.8 compression ratio (SE/SXT have 9.3:1 from 2003-2005)
[/ul]
I think thats it...
I dont really understand the SRT-4 part...since they have nothing in common.
Other "performance" options are larger front/rear sway bars, along with stiffer suspension over the SXT/SE Neons...
