Hello I was wondering how I could reset PCM on my wifes neon . I'm not talking about the disconect the battery method . On my ram I was told to Pull the PCM fuse and buckle seat belt turn key to start until it chimes twice . Is this the same for the neon? Should I do it just when I mod it or ever so often ? Thanks

 

Disconnect the battery for 15 minutes. That's how you do it.

 

Pull the fuel pump fuse if you don't like the "disconnect the battery" method...or do both.

 

you don't have to do it for 15 minutes... disconnect the negative terminal on the battery. walk back to the drivers seat and press the break for maybe 3-5 seconds, then re-connect the battery.

I've done it a millions times while street tuning my '03, damn MAP Sensor codes. lol

 

so u can tune the stock PCM? or no?

 

Tune the actual PCM, no...reset to "original" programming, yes.

 

what do you mean, "original" programming? if you cant tune it why would it change in the first place.....?
and sorry for bringing up old post... i've been away for a bit

 

the pcm on our cars is designed to ajust slightly depending on how the car is driven however changing the program on 03 and up dosent work out that well.

 

i see...... now can anyone explain "why" you cant program the stock PCM for a 2000-2002 Neon? b/c everyone has said you cant but they never say why.... my friend has a WRX and he tunes the stock ECU, but why is it we cannot tune our stock PCMs?

 

becuse dodge sucks and had to program it that way if you are looking to do that you can get a stand alone, but unless you have something big, its not worth it
