Default Steering/spindle Knuckle or Hub

Hi There
I have found this forum very useful.

When my car is lifted up for check the passenger wheel is moving vertically ( when push and pull) and not when we push/pull left horizontally.
I have a long story with bearing and hub. car is running very well and there is not wining noise from bearing.
I am in doubt for the hub.( inside the hub might be damaged and there is not good contact with the axle)

My mechanic is telling me is the spindle knuckle or axle problem.
I check the repairing manual and there is a steering knuckle and the hub is removable.

Please give any idea
Thanks
Rosario

Sounds more like the axel. I would go with what your mechanic said.

Thanks Mike for your imediate reply.
Why do you think is the axle and not the hub ?
WE removed the wheel and axle was looking OK.
W do not remove th hub and bering from the Steering knuckle.
That is why I think is the hub.

Thanks again
Rosario

The axle itself only goes through the wheel bearing so if the wheel moves then then it has to either be the bearing or ball joint. The knuckle/spindle is only item which things are bolted too. So unless the mounting holes have been left loose and wallowed out the mount point of the ball-joint, wheel bearing, strut and you have not bent it (bent is not loose though) it probably is not the knuckle. You need to see if it is moving at the ball joint or wheel bearing.
