lowering question
This coming summer I plan on getting new rim and was wondering if after I lowering springs, should I get a front strut bar?
I was loking at springs on some site and it said that I would also need a front strut.
So I was wondering what you guys think or what you think is best?
Thanks,

Well, if lowering I would recommend new struts as stockers are know to go bad quickly after lowering. If just getting springs like Eibach then Tokico HP Blues would be good. Unless of course you are going true coilover as those would have the new strut portion included.
Strut tower bars are common for two reasons. Looks under the hood or performance. Makes the chassis stiffer and more predictable. Better turning capabilities.
If performance capability is your primary function then 15" wheels (for tire choice) and don't forget the sway bars.
If looks then you do not need strut bars unless just dressing up the insides too.
What is best depends on you.

I'm 99% sure my front left strut is blown, I went over a curb for an entrence a little to fast and bottomed out my car, I hate places that have those huge mounds for their entrance. Anyway I'm just planning on getting some coilovers eventually so that will solve that but that just kinda pisses me off.
Also side question, the mopar coilvers will allow me to put 17X7 rims on my car correct?

Damn that sucks getting a blown strut on stock springs, but that kind of stuff happens i suppose!
Real coilovers will allow you to put damn near any tire size you want on there...considering it fits inside the wheel well of course...

tenth element, if i where you and if you are going for performance i would go a coilover, air ride for one thing gives you zero handling, and if you buy a cheap kit off the internet you will be sorry, the people at airbagit.com have no good quality stuff for neons, i have seen there kit and it is something that i would not spend 200 dollars on, it is cheap and poorly made. but if you are going to go for show then air ride is the way to go, you will want to go with a big compressor and nice adjustable airstruts, because the kits that i have seen have been giving no drop but lift when the bags are completly full of air...... and trust me it looks really really stupid, because your neon looks like it is a 4x4.....

Hotchkis stuff is a much high rate than a stock neon, and it is the spring rate that kill the struts on most no just the drop. So they would be likely to give up even with Hotchkis. hat being said it is one of the finest sets out their for a road going neon. The complete set springs and sway bars with Say Tokico Illuminas for the SRT4 would probably be a great setup.
