hmm good question and i will prob write a huge essay on in but i might get tired in th middle so here goes:

rice can be defined as two things, it is either when a car is way too flashy for no reason, or a midset
i will explain both

first the flashyness:
stickers everywhere that mean nothing (fear this) is rice. it serves no point and makes a car look very cluttered. also neons can make or break your car. too many and you look like you drive a ufo with flasy lightes that look like ****. also placement is very important. underbody kits are nice if they go with the car. it your car looks like crap and you have an underbody kit then it is a nono. if your car is clean and well done, it is a good addition. also if you see any kind of neon bar or an led or some kind of light bulb, bar, etc. that is another nono. you have these things for the lights they produce not for the things which emmit the light. if you have a neon bar screwed into your a pillars then you obviously don't care enough about your car to have it clean so it is ricy. ricy is also having your car look as though it is halfassed. if you have nice mods and whatnot but they are in the wrong place, or wires are everywhere, it is ricy. a clean car is a happy car, so if there are wires all over your dashboard and floor and whatnot then once again you do not care enough about your car so it looks like crap. more visial things that are rice, nonunctional hoodscoops. cmon guys what the **** is that. i see some cars with a "hood scoop" drilled into the hood and does nothing. it looks like your car is crappy. if it serves a urpose then it is ok. well i have to go now this is just a beginning hopefully i can write more cuz im acually having fun writing this when i usially never have fun wroting things.

Large metal drag wings on FWD cars, an over abundance of product stickers that your car is not equipped with...massive exhaust mufflers that have no performance or aesthetic value whatsoever (or simply no exhaust), underbody lighting, LED windshield wiper nozzles...interiors that are 100% the exterior color (that is done with Duplicolor spray paint...and not done well)...LED lights everywhere...stick on hood scoops, roof scoops, side air dams, air deflectors, etc...

"Ricer" also goes beyond just looks, it also goes toward the driver...some attributes would include: talking up his car when he has nothing done to it, talking about automotive topics that he clearly knows nothing about, challenging people to drag races...bragging about beating a Geo Metro...when he loses it was because "i had a broken motor mount", "my clutch is slipping pretty bad", "my ram air intake must have a clogged filter", "i forgot to use my octane booster", or any other nonsense you can think of. Oh and the ever so wonderful "ricer flyby" where some ***ot in a Civic will fly past you going 50 in a 25 and flip you off or rev his engine...

That is my definition of a "ricer"...I'm sure i cold think of some other things though...

Or really anything that the first thing you say when you see it is "what the f**k?"

well about those stickers, sometimes stickers can be ok. if you get a vinal made of the company and it is custom and a nice color like maybe slightly off color of your car, or if you have an accent color, like if you look at my car, it is black, but i have one red vinal on the bottom of my rear drivers side door. i think that looks clean and it is not too over done or showy. sticker placement is also very important. make them small and in a corner somewhere and you should be fine

anyway back to part 2 of my ricer rant. where was i

HUGE spoilers are rediculous. you have a fwd car and a huge spoiler and you look like an idiot. unless you have a nice show ccar where it goes well. then its ok because you make money for it. huge mufflers that sound like there is a bee hive in your car are ricy. spend the money and get a real exhaust ot get something ghetto that works and doesnt sound like ****.

no more about the visual but heres some on the mindset of ricer

"My car is the fastest thing in the world and i can bea anyone" -no there is always someone faster than you. you should never really trashtalk anyway because it is not nice, unless someone says something to you first becasue never take **** from no one. some people with little dinky hondas and a rice can on teh back and cai that drive around and give the "ricer hello" are rice. duh ricer hello lol dont go out looking to race or show something of yourself. perfect example. im at a light the other day. a scion tc pulls up to me and i had seen his exhaust, and he had the 2 pillar pod. no revs or anything, but we both took off. he beat me unfortunately, becasue little did i know, but the thing was turboed and passed me while he shifted to third (which is still pretty bad granted i have an auto neon) but anyway, we both drove next to eachother for a little bit and he didnt rub it in my face or anything, we just both looked at eachother, nodded heads, and i gave him a thumbs up. thats how it should be. people don't understand that we are all here to have fun, not prove anything, and that was good. i havent raced anyone and done that in a while and i think that is how it should be done. anyway ricers think their car is the **** and think of stupid excuses when they lose.

this is all opinion however, so if you like something that i said is rice then if you like it thats all that matters so do what you want.

i just wanted to get a few rumors out of the way

honda=rice-FALSE it is not the car. it is the driver and what is done to the car. my friend has a civic si with a nice exhaust and whatnot on it. it is very fast, and very cleanly done so i would never consider it rice (which he is selling soon so if anyone wants some info let me know. beautiful car)

Ghetto=rice-FALSE ghetto is not rice if it works. pvc cai are the ****. they work better than the name brands becasue they dont heat up and they can be made to however you want ghetto exhausts are ok only is and i mean ONLY IF they look clean and sound nice.

spikeymikey87=god TRUE duh

well, i think stickers are not bad if done corectly, me personaly, go to a shop that makes stickers, and get them done in like a flat black, or something that you can see and does not stick out so bad.....i am going to get made everything that is in my car and put it in my trunk just for shows, but i am also after the sleeper look kinda like you are, i have a functional hood scoop, that keeps the turbo cool, but becides that everhthing else is shaved, becides the doors, my trunk, and side markers, makes the car look clean....me personaly i think that bodykits not molded in the car is a big ricer feature or that are installed poorly. and in my town you have all the people with the fart cans and nothing to back it up, once again nother big ricer feature. oh yeah and of course any honda is a ricer, lol

i got to admit i have a little ricer in me. i usualy dont anitiate unless you have something i really want to race. i cant resist a nice v8, porsche or anything that cost more than its worth. and if im into it talking up my car alittle or maybe some sh!@ talking is just fun and part of the prerace.
