Default fixen the neon

im new here my brother signed me up a mad long time ago but i just re-registured cuz i cant remember anything! anyways i wanna possibly fix up my 2002 dodge neon and keep it im not to sure yet! anyways ive been having some major problems with it.. the check engine light has been on for i believe 4 months now, its storing an overheat code but theres nothing wrong with the car im so lost i cant figure out how to fix it [:@]! anyone have any ideas or the same problem that could assist me?

Have you tried clearing the code and seeing if it comes up????

its the base model right now.. i took everything off and out but the k&n air filter..
yea i tried to clear the code but it stays off for the most an hour or so and comes back on
im at a stand still.. all i do is scratch my head and scream at the car like its gonna help! haha!
i cant even figure out whats setting it off.. i took out the oil pan and what not it was insane..
i love my car its my 2nd neon i had a first year too but i traded it in for this one and unfortunitly ive
had nothing but problems with this one.. i dont wanna get rid of my car though

Something is setting off that sensor......Can We Get Some Help for this Kid!!!! 'Cause I am Clueless....

its definitly a head scratcher! ill tell u that much! haha! its full stock right now!
i wish i had the pictures here! i dont have them at my boyfriends house..

the overheating might be a faulty temperature sensor. As for the check engine light im not too sure. That could be anything. Have you noticed a lack of power or anything unusual?

nope.. nothing outta the norm hes running pretty well considering.. its never overheated or anything.. i did have problems where the car would just die while driving.. and i had to replace every sensor and the computer in the car so thats all brand new under the hood..

have you checked your radiator? Could be a bad fan... or simply not enough coolant in the radiator?

before you change the sensor see if you have air bubbles. fill the car with coolent while its running.

the radiator is brand new too.. the dealership cracked it tryin to check some **** under the hood..
