Yeah the only differences for the SRT-D are: R/T exhaust, R/T rear bumper, SRT concept front bumper (minus the lip), SRT-4 wing, SRT-4 hood.

SRT-D = gay poser SXT...no extra features at all except for the fact that it loosely resembles the SRT-4 and makes some of its dumb teenage ricer drivers think the wing and front bumper add 100whp.

its the 2.0 ,same as the sxt and se. dodge probably had to get rid ofsome extra parts. i wonder how many of those front bumpers they made for the 03 before they switched it out and put the nostrils in them. could this be why they used the bumpers that more resemble the origional concept?

They added the nostrils for cooling purposes...no SRT-4 that hit production has either the SRT concept bumper or the SRT-D bumper. The SRT-D was only offered as a 2005 "Appearance Package"...

yes, but the origional car was not designed with the nostrils. but just before their production went into full swing, they decided to add them for cooling purposes. you are correct that NO srt4 had the bumper w/o the nostrils. i was just curious if perhaps they had made a crapload of them during the early stages and just had them sitting in a warehouse somewhere. why else wouldnt they just keep the nostrils in for the appearance, thus saving the hassle of a different production line for the different bumper. kinda following my thougts here?

Ok yeah I'm following you now...the only other thing is the original concept bumper also had the same lip that the production SRT-4 bumper has, while the SRT-D bumper doesn't have that lip. I don't see how they could have any of these bumpers without the lip just laying around since it would've been in the final design, i can see that connection when they used the extra R/T rear bumpers and R/T exhaust they had laying around...but other than that.

ok, tracking with you now. yeah, i didnt realize about the lip. but i think the srt wannabie used up some parts on the dying R/T (who would pay for the r/t when a couple grand more gets the srt?) but its an interesting design, probably a little overpriced for the option. it was an opprotunity for dodge to make a little extra off those who wanted an srt but maybe couldnt afford it (or the insurance), or for whatever reason liked the srt style but didnt want the srt. anyhow, i never liked the idea of the appearance package but should have seen it coming

on this 15th day of December, 2006, i hearby declare POST # 1000!!! WOOT
