My dumbass thought it would be a great idea to pull off the side strips on the neon for a cleaner look. It is a 2000 se by the way. Now that i pulled off the side strips im having one helluva time getting the glue off even tho im using some remover called "goof off" and a razor blade. on top of that the area where the srip was pulled is faded and noticeable up close. any on no a quick way of getting off the glue? And do u think i should put the strips back on?

pulling them off on a 6 year old car, probably wasn't a good idea. Especially if yours is red.

the glue will come off with enough elbow grease... I used wd40. but was sure to give the car a good wax and buff. My strips came off about 2 hours after the dealer gave me the key. 4 miles on the clock!

WORK AT IT WORK AT IT AND WORK SOME MORE and eventually it should come off, I think with a REALLY GOOD ALL DAY WASH WAX AND BUFF it shouldn't be that noticable, just don't put them back on, once their off your commited. That's just life, i'm taking mine off this summer, 3 years shouldn't be to bad on the paint and a good wash and wax will do it just fine.

yeah, your going to definately need a highspeed buffer to blend the color gap on a 6yr old car. gives you an idea how much that baby faded though. you should be ok though. i spent a couple years detailing, so as long as you work at it with LOTS OF PATIENCE, youll be fine. just dont rush or you could at worst take paint off when removing the glue or burn your paint buffing.

alittle trick, take a heat gun and use that, use the end of your thumb (NOT YOUR FINGER NAIL) and take it when the glue is warm....it comes off pritty easy, and next time you do it use the heat gun first, and they will practicaly fall off, most of the glue will come with it, oh yeah and it will look faded so take it to a really good buffer and have then buff out the faded part....good luck

what you need to get rid of the glue the easiest way is a tool called an "eraser" its an air too used by body men to take off pin striping and glue and such. It works really well, doesnt damage the paint, then all you need is a good buff job.

try to find your self some contractors solvent, that wont take paint off, or clearcoats, or you could always use some good ole' compound (polishing compound), i used that to take off the glue when i debaged my 01 ES and it worked wonders :-D good luck
